THIS SHOULD BE CRIMINAL.

I recall that before NuLabour's discriminatory social exclusion of smokers in 2007 no one on the street or in a pub, a cafe or a restaurant, ever really moaned or talked about a blanket smoking ban except for TV, biased agenda driven newspapers, Quangos and Govt.

Most people were happy that there was choice for both sides and few complained when Taxi-For-Hire minister Pat Hewitt initially announced a partial ban would come in. We didn't know then that she was lying to ensure there was no dissent and to pull the wool over the public's eyes to push custom towards her corporate masters and secure a very nice personal wealth package for herself.

She said there would be exemptions for "wet" pubs when the ban came in which would only affect those places where families go to eat and get pissed in front of their kids. Then she shafted everyone at the last, forced all smoker pubs out of business, dragged the economy down with it, and legislated for hate and intolerance for the first time in Europe since the 1930s.

We didn't know then that she was a bought and paid for corporate minister, like the other two creeps skillfully caricatured above by Mark Wadsworth and that she would impose any economically, as well as socially, damaging policy upon the unsuspecting British people as long as she was paid enough to do it. I mean, what did she care about Britain as long as she got rich?

Boots was just one corporate company that paid her £3,000 per day to look after its interests as health minister. I always thought that was a bit perverse bearing in the mind the spiteful smoking ban was allegedly imposed to "help" people quit, "protect" (now unemployed) pub workers, and of course to get everyone running to Boots to get their ever so expensive NRT patches, gum et al to become one of the chosen and not the despised.

I think this is so scandalous that I'd like to see Pat Hewitt criminally investigated for corruption like the other troughing MPs who got caught after they stole cash from the public purse with their imaginary expenses claims to pay for mortgages and other stuff they didn't have.

And when Hewitt was health minister, she also ripped off the NHS and ensured the service quango paid over the odds for technology it didn't get

Am I surprised that Pat Hewitt is now a consultant at said firm? Not at all. It seems entirely in keeping with her Machiavellian self interest nature. Will she be prosecuted for criminal behaviour which I believe it was? Probably not but she should be if the current Govt wants us to believe that it is honest, well meaning, respectable and responsible and it is turning its back on corruption.

Govt must not turn a blind eye to any minister who touts UK policy for personal cash and it must carry out further investigations on those who did in the past. They, as much as the bankers, brought this country to its knees.

GOOD DRUGS BAD DRUGS

When are "bad" drugs "good"? When Big Pharma pushes them rather than illegal cartel drug barons or the legal tobacco industry.

We know that the Pharmaceutical industry is corrupt and doesn't give a flying fig about health. It's primary and only concern is profit and if children in the Third World are too poor to pay for life saving drugs then Big P simply won't provide them.

That's why every single anti-smoker organisation in the UK that is snuggled up in bed with Big P - including ASH - and several UK universities are not in it for health reasons but for cash and jobs.


Early medical "researchers"

Even the hallowed and saintly Stirling University admits it is dependent on Big P because most of its students now have careers in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and agricultural industries.

I don't see how they are much better than those who work in the tobacco industry myself and certainly their morals at taking this dirty money are questionable.

Of course tobacco is a natural medicinal herb but Big P and its academic lackeys malign it as a drug to slander tobacco consumers as addicts and push custom towards Big P. They cover the lie with Frankenstein science because they cannot openly admit after years of untruths that tobacco does indeed contain therapeutic qualities.

I know that I'd rather rely on nature than an unnatural manipulation of nature but each to his or her own - if only we were allowed to make our lifestyle choices without fear or favour.

It does suit Big P and its servants scientists to create a nation of hypochondriacs and phobics to keep the huge profits rolling in but I honestly and sincerely doubt that their motives are altruistic or based on any real concern about health - just as they were not in the days when snake oil salesmen pushed their useles wares.

I'd like to think that Govt is finally waking up to the con bearing in mind that Nanny Milton is trying hard to distance herself from ASH but I simply don't believe her.

ASH is not a grass roots organisation and never has been. It was set up by Govt and is a Govt quango in reality that masquerades as a "charity" so we are really not that easily fooled Ms Milton.

The only way that you can prove to us that you are not smokerphobic or biased in running the DoH is to stop all funding to the anti-smoker industry and lay off the Tobacco Industry, its law abiding consumers, and all the associated businesses with it - including the small vending machine salesmen, paid less than researchers at Stirling, now out of work and on the dole thanks to your Govt's stupidity in following the damaging economic policies of your predecessors in Labour.

Tobacco should be regulated and is. Over regulation in favour of its direct competitors at Big Pharma is obscene and would be unlawful if such methods of putting legal industry out of business was directed at any other lawful product.

UPDATE : I just saw this and wonder how on earth the author expects us to believe it and how he can state, with a straight face, that :

R.W. undertakes research and consultancy for, and has received travel funds and hospitality from, companies that develop and manufacture smoking cessation medications. He has a share in a patent for a novel nicotine delivery device.

Sorry, but here is direct evidence of an alleged "scientist" who depends on his own personal fortune by harassing smokers and propagating untruths.

If this man really "cared" about smokers damaging their health then he would be active in his cause for free like just about every single pro-choice warrior. He's obviously in it for the money. Don't believe a word.

MILTON IN DENIAL

As I'm currently without work, and following my recent holiday to Italy, I must admit that funds are tight. However, thanks to Anne Milton - the corrupt DoH minister who lives happily in the pocket of the anti-smoker industry - I now have a two page worthless letter from her filled with all manner of weird, wild, wacky and frankly paranoid health lies about smoking which will save me a bob or two on bog paper.

My MP Karl McCartney - who I am sure is a good and decent bloke - was invited to The Save Our Pubs and Clubs event at the HoC on June 29. He couldn't make it but kindly agreed to see me at his local surgery where I told him about some of the ridiculous health claims made about smoking, the fraud of passive smoking, and how smokers are being bullied, harassed out of jobs and in some cases sacked just for being smokers.

I also made him aware of a study that shows lifelong smokers from childhood to older age are 60% more likely to die immediately after quitting than if they continue to smoke moderately.

I also raised with Karl my concerns that the Pharma political front group ASH was too close to Govt and it stank of corruption.

After all, it can't be right for a Govt to pay a political lobby group to lobby it to achieve the ideological aim that the Govt wants and bypassing the very real concerns of the electorate - ie: The people who put Milton and her cronies in office.

Karl was very interested in our campaign and wrote to ex-smoker Milton who at least took the time to write him a three sided letter rather than the usual brief "smokers kill 600,000 people per year so fuck off" response her dept usually sends to humble voters concerned at where this is all going.

Milton feigned ignorance of smokers sacked from jobs and bullied in the workplace yet I drew her attention to Page 229 of Velvet Glove, Iron Fist that details names, firms, and cases where that has happened since this nonsense began in the late 1990s.

She is either blind, ignorant or stupid if she hasn't seen articles such as THIS THIS or THIS.

And even after the spiteful blanket ban which forbids smokers from smoking in the workplace, the practice still continues and there is no protection or even recognition to stop this discrimination based on bigotry and not health concerns or a smoker's inability to do the job required.

In 2005, a lady named Sophie Blinham began work at Dataflow Communications but was sacked within 15 minutes of starting her job. She took the firm to court and lost. A spokesman for the "victorious" firm said he didn't want people coming into work "smelling of smoke." Smokers did not, he said, present a "good image." I loathe the smell of chewing gum but I'd never sack someone for it if they didn't chew it at work. Smell - despite the fraudulent studies on Third Hand Smoke - harms no one.

Milton also mentions the Govt's plan to force us down to an 18.5% per cent minority as outlined in the puke inducing title of it's report - no doubt complied by academics in the payroll of Big P and ASH - Healthy Lives, Healthy People: A Tobacco Control Plan for England. Despite the fact she said this, rather more substantial piece of bog paper, "aims to promote comprehensive and evidence based tobacco control in local communities" there is nothing in it based on any more than junk science, manipulated data and a prejudicial view that smokers will be eradicated no matter what.

Then of course Milton repeats - and actually makes up a few new whoppers - on how many die of smoking (fill in huge figure yourself - it's just as accurate). Do you know they now claim it kills more people than road accidents, "other accidents and falls", preventable diabetes, suicide and alcohol abuse? Wow.

I might even be tempted to believe it if this wasn't about health but social engineering by profiteering sociologist academics rather than scientists who work in the more reliable area of biology than behavior.

I forgot during my visit to Karl to ask exactly what the plan for smokers is after we are forced down an even smaller minority but I feel sure that Milton won't admit quite yet that the aim is to criminalise us. My real fear is "quit or prison is the next logical step". I am to write to Karl again to ask him find out what plans lie in store for us and whether I will be jailed in my 70s for failing to subscribe to this new religion

Of course Milton spouts the fraudulent figures on harm caused by passive smoking. Odd that they appear to get worse with each new study or report or research that we are never allowed to see or analyse despite the rapid drop in smoking rates. Also odd that she blames smokers for causing asthma when the fact is that since smoking rates have declined asthma cases have risen.

The studies on passive smoking are all featured in Velvet Glove Iron Fist and they show roughly rounded off that 80% show a null (no) effect, 10% an irritant effect to people extra sensitive to smoke - non show lung cancer - and 10% that show there is a protective effect for children. Milton is quite simply a liar - or naive to the point of stupidity. I would have thought that Britain deserves someone of more intellect to direct policy but then she is an expert bigot and I guess that is the only qualification needed for the modern health dept today. Despite the billions that we put into their funding, they still can't cure cancer and heart disease so they waste our cash on persecuting minorities instead to make it look as if they are "doing something".

Milton even repeats the rubbish about middle ear infections which yesterday's science by press release fraudulently claimed made teenagers deaf. More disgracefully, despite the group that represents and counsels parents on cot deaths refuting and demanding ASH founder John Banzhaf withdraw this false claim, he continued to repeat it until it became "truth".

The Sudden Death Syndrome Alliance said : "The sensational headline for one of your recent Internet reports (07/30) "Smoking Parents are killing their infants" has gone too far. The fact is, resarchers still do not know what causes SIDS ... Insensitive generalisations about SIDS broadcast through print or the electronic media serve only to perpetuate the public's misconceptions ... Your literature states that smoking "kills more than 2000 infants each year from SIDS" Any published figures are sheer speculation, or guesses, not grounded in actual experimentation ... we respectfully request that you adjust your message as far as SIDS is concenred. While we support your cause, we can not do so at the expense of the tens of thousands of families that we represent."

The group said they welcomed Banzhaf's reply but he did not give one and ASH continued to quote the statistic which Milton has now adjusted by just throwing smoking in the mix as the cause of "a variety of conditions including respiratory disease, COT DEATH, (my emphasis) and middle ear disease in children." Yes, we know, they always use the children as human shields to force through their own wet dream of a smoke free world based on ideology not real and proven health concerns.

The only little nugget of comfort was that Milton claimed that "no decision has yet been taken on whether to award further grants to ASH for 2011/12 or beyond." I reckon that as the Govt also aims to use the fraudulent smoker-harms-others template for other lifestyle issues, then ASH will have a new role to play under it's new description of "Public Health Charity". Yes, I think the former "Anti-smoking charity" is looking to ensure it still gets it's unhealthy share of a very large paranoid pie by using its bigoted expertise on other groups of people.

I hope Karl does write to Milton again based on what I have written above but I also know that she will just repeat and keep repeating her outrageous claims until he finally believes them or just gives up. Nanny Milton along with Bully Andrew Lansley, have made the poster below a reality. As much as I really do like Karl, I have to ask as a smoker - and of others as drinkers, fatties and foodies - do you really want to vote Tory next time when all you can expect is more persecution and an unwillingness for Govt depts to actually listen to those it allegedly works for and represents?



The Conservative Govt must be made to see that it's current health policy will lose it votes and damage it's chances of a landslide victory at another election. They managed to scrape together a coalition on 10 million votes - just imagine what they could achieve if they got the 12 million smokers onside as well.

DoH WORKS AGAINST THE PUBLIC

It's confirmed - the Department of Health is full of the same kind of nutters as Councillor Paul Bartlett.

I guess that's really not surprising because the DoH has admitted that it is corrupt and it allows an unelected smokerphobic political lobby group to run the dept and make policy to humiliate smokers in much the same way as I imagine the BNP would do to immigrants if it was given the same kind of free rein over the Home Office.

MINISTER ADMITS DoH CORRUPTION

Well, well, well, junior state health persecutor Nanny Milton has openly admitted that the Govt's tobacco control policy is corrupt and designed by political lobbyists and Big Pharmaceutical vested interests.

In an answer to a Parliamentary question, Milton said the Govt didn't give a stuff about those who had voted Tory nor did it care about law abiding ordinary people or legal business.

Instead, it pays political lobby groups like ASH - which it hides behind "charity" status so its dodgy dealings can't be found through Freedom of Information requests - and only listens to big Corporate interests which compete directly with Big Tobacco companies who are not allowed to be heard along with their legal consumers who are being punished for not wanting to quit.

This would be the same Pharmaceutical Industry that uses Govt to push harmful drugs which kill smokers but they continue to be prescribed because the Govt says smokers don't matter and they are trying to purge us from society so death or quit makes no difference.

It seems that Nanny Milton is openly acknowledging that the publically funded Department of Vested Interests, AKA the DoH, is lobbied by organisations funded by the DoH, and is only happy to speak to those that share it's corruption in making Big Pharma richer and poor smokers criminals because they won't buy Big P's quit products.

And I thought Tories were for free market competition and not about making laws that allow one competitor to prosper at the expense of a rival.

Fair play on the only honest politician in Govt at present for asking the question of Milton. Personally I'd like to know if she is also being paid by Big Pharma to give it an unfair competitive advantage like her predecessor Pat Hewitt - the Taxi For Hire Minister who was paid £3000 per day to advance the interests of corporate Big Pharma in the making of Govt policy.

I repeat what I said above. This corrupt Conservative Govt hides ASH's main function - political lobbying - behind charity status so we can never learn how much it is paying our so called elected representatives to make the policy it wants making.

Philip Davies asked the Secretary of State for Health :

If he will make it his policy to require that organisations which engage with his Department on tobacco control issues disclose whether they are linked to or receive funding from (a) the pharmaceutical industry and (b) the public purse. [54656]

Nanny Milton - presumably in the absence of Big Bully Boss Andrew Lansley replied:

The Government are under obligation to protect tobacco control from the vested interests of the tobacco industry, under The World Health Organisation’s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.
Our policy on this is set out in Chapter 10 of “Healthy Lives, Healthy People: A Tobacco Control Plan for England ”. This does not extend beyond the tobacco industry and the Department, as with all other policy areas, engages with a wide range of stakeholders including the pharmaceutical industry, organisations in receipt of funding from the pharmaceutical industry and organisations in receipt of funding from the public purse.

The other question I'd really like to know is who the hell voted anyone in from the WHO into Westminster? I'm pretty sure there were no candidates from that organisation on my ballot paper last May.

So now the secret is out. Milton has admitted for all to hear that the current Govt is corrupt and it doesn't care about it's voters so smoking Tory voters - have your eyes been opened yet or will you still vote for more persecution from the thoroughly dishonest Conservative Govt that panders to Big Industry and lobbyists who are making the policy that you expected to be made by those you voted for?

If you vote Conservative again, you deserve all you get but ordinary hard working law abiding, tax paying smokers do not.

NUGOVT - SAME OLD FRAUD

This is yet further evidence that the ConDems are totally naive and stupid and will believe any old tripe put forward by Labour's civil servants who despite a general election, are still making policies that the majority of non-smoking and smoking voters rejected at the ballot box.

They want choice, equality, to be treated as grown ups, and to be allowed to decide for themselves where they socialise and who with. The NuGovt doesn't care about the voter which is why I believe it will lose the next election. People are already fed up and if they do not do something to address the very real concerns of freedom of choice v dictatorship, then they are finished as parties.

Tory supporters are already hanging their heads in embarrassment at this "socialist" NuConservative party and frankly, the LibDems have become a laughing stock. If they do not change their bigoted stance on smokers, then other parties will get the support that might have gone their way

They've lied to their core support - students - and their once in their history go at being in Govt has only shown that they are no alternative. The hopes people had in them to be "different" from the other two main parties has only been exposed as false and built on nothing more substantial that straw.

Yes, the Lib Dems are finished as a party. I think some will stay with the Tories as the best hope of keeping their fat salaries. Others will join NuLabour - and as that thoroughly corrupt party has bragged - in the thousands.

The only decent LibDems I know are Coun Carl Minns from Hull and the Mayor of Market Rasen, Ken Bridger. I wish they'd both see sense and cross over. Ken I know is very much an ordinary bloke trying to do good. From what I have learned of Carl, I feel he is the same. UKIP needs more people like that. Their talents are wasted with their party of choice.

I recall Dudley UKIP councillor Malcolm Davis - who crossed over from the LibDems - said he was disillusioned with his former party and many more feel like he does.

UKIP can become the new party of the people for the people. It is growing from the bottom up and is taking support from the LibLabCon party. It is not full of "nazi brownshirts" as jealous critics put out to scare away support. It's full of people fed up at being ignored over all sorts of issues - the smoking ban being the one that affects 12 million potential voters.

The media also criticises UKIP because its prospective MPs are ordinary people so fed up with the LibLabCon dictatorship, that they have taken matters into their own hands in a bid to get that change that Britain so desperately needs if she is to survive, and her people are to remain free.

They are not slick politicians trained in the art of lying. They are honest men and women who tell it as they see it. They may say things people don't like - but at least they know what they are voting for.

Currently the main parties are making Britons that thing they said they'd never be - slaves.

As charities, politicians and community leaders over here spend wasted time, effort and money on telling us how to live our social lives healthily, over in Iran a woman is staring death in the face in the most barbaric way imaginable.

If this army of busy-body do-gooders put their energies into this case and our leaders - instead of being concerned whether we have one pint or two, smoke 10 or 20 fags a day - actually used their power and influence on a cause of so much greater importance then they would actually earn my respect.

Meanwhile, the campaign to end stoning and to save the life of a women in Iran is left to the little people - us.

According to news received by the International Committee against Stoning and International Committee against Execution on 1 November 2010, the authorities in Tehran have given the go ahead to Tabriz prison for the execution of Iran stoning case Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani. It has been reported that she is to be executed this Wednesday 3 November.

We had previously reported that the casefile regarding the murder case of Ms Ashtiani’s husband had been seized from her lawyer’s office, Houtan Kian, and found missing from the prosecutor’s Oskoo branch office so as to stitch Ms Ashtiani up with trumped up murder charges. [Another man has already served a prison sentence and is now free for her husband’s murder.] Ms Ashtiani’s son, Sajjad Ghaderzadeh, and her lawyer, Houtan Kian, have warned of the regime’s plan to do so on many occasions. With the arrest of Ms Ashtiani’s son and lawyer on 10 October and her not having had any visitation rights since 11 August and after fabricating a new case against her, the “Human Rights Commission” of the regime has announced that: ‘according to the existing evidence, her guilt has been confirmed.’ In fact, the regime has created a new scenario in order to expedite her execution.

In other news, Sajjad Ghaderzadeh and Houtan Kian have been severely tortured in order to obtain confessions against Sakineh and themselves since their arrests on 10 October along with two German journalists. The initial interrogations by the Ministry of Intelligence have now been completed and the casefile sent to the National Prosecutor General and Judiciary Spokesperson, Mohsen-Ejehi, in Tehran rather than being handled in Tabriz. Their families are concerned for their wellbeing. When attempting to secure lawyers for the two, authorities have said that the two men did not need legal representation.

Sajjad and Houtan Kian’s only ‘crime’ has been to defend Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani and proclaim her innocence with facts and evidence. That their contact with Mina Ahadi is considered a crime is absurd given that Ahadi has been contacted by death row prisoners and their families and lawyers for many years now, including directly from prison. This is because of her many years of work against stoning and executions.

The International Committees against Stoning and Execution call on international bodies and the people of the world to come out in full force against the state-sponsored murder of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani. Ms Ashtiani, Sajjad Ghaderzadeh, Houtan Kian and the two German journalists must be immediately and unconditionally released.

1. Contact government officials, MPs, MEPs, and the UN asking them to intervene urgently. Governments must immediately summon the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ambassadors and demand that Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani’s execution be stopped and that she along with her son, Sajjad Ghaderzadeh, and lawyer, Houtan Kian, and the two German journalists be immediately released.
