HATE SMOKER DAY HEROES AND VILLAINS

We've all heard about Kate Moss smoking on the catwalk on that most puritanical of days but she wasn't the only hero to make a stance on National Hate Smoker Day - or No Smoking Day in modern Newspeak.

Actor Jeremy Irons decided to give the Oscars a miss because he's fed up of continually having to go outside and decided he'd be better off staying at home.



UKIP leader Nigel Farage also had a common sense view. He made no apologies for it and later posted on Twitter and Facebook that no-one would tell him what to do. He lit up in his Brussels office and ordered a box of doughnuts to ensure the lifestyle police got the message.



Anti-smokers soon crawled out of the woodwork to get their ever so offended and worried for the chiiildren best faces on to attack this form of free expression and support for smokers.

Kirstie Allsop (who? - she of some home improvement show) soon dived in and attacked Kate Moss whose courage was to highlight "a woman's right to live life as she chooses." I salute her stance which came soon after International Women's Day.



Prod-nosed bigot Kirstie would deny women to be themselves because they don't agree with her stance on tobacco. She whined :

"Is Kate Moss learning impaired? Smoking kills women, endangers children's health & drains the NHS #notbignotclever #respectyourinfluence
She's made a fortune out of being an aspirational figure, she needs to give back & respect her influence."

Well, Kirstie, she most certainly has done both. Huge respect goes to Kate Moss from me and millions of other free thinking people. Thanks Kate for the inspiration and support.

I wish I knew Irene Oldfather so I could find a photo of her but all I know is that she is some paranoid smokerphobic hag associated with the Scottish Parliament who would like to see Press censorship - unless it is spouting her propaganda, I suppose. It seems she would also tell modelling agencies how to run their businesses. Her motion proposed :

Condemning the Promotion of Smoking During Paris Fashion Week—That the Parliament was disappointed to see national newspapers use images of Kate Moss smoking a cigarette while modelling for Louis Vuitton at Paris Fashion Week; condemns the use of cigarettes and smoking as a method of highlighting fashion and gaining publicity; considers that images of models smoking can be very attractive to young people, who might aspire to be like such icons, and that such high-profile images detract from the work carried out to prevent young people from smoking and in educating them on the harm that it causes; notes that it is estimated that 15,000 young people take up smoking in Scotland every year and that it causes one quarter of all adult deaths, and further considers tobacco to be highly addictive and that its easy availability and visibility can lead to young people becoming hooked, which is damaging to their health and the health of those around them.

Of course the biggest creep of the day was Health Persecutor Andrew Lansley - you know, the one who is pretending to be a free market Conservative (snigger).



He announced the Govt's plan to increase child smoking and make smoking far more dangerous than it ever has been by encouraging the tax exempt Black Market initiative run by international criminals.

His ridiculous tobacco dispaly ban is the first step in the process.

Then there were the everyday heros like a Facebook friend who ensured he lit up when walking past the smoke-free thugs that invaded our town centres on March 9 with the aim of making us feel even more stigmatised.

Some gin-soaked hag felt she had the right to be offensive :

Yeah and making your breath smell, pervades the air for others and kills people...yeah grab a fag. I am sorry if that sounds rude, truth hurts.

And I would intentionally beat your brains out and step on the fag which you would litter the ground with, in most cases not extinguished. Believe me they (being the powers that be) will start on alcohol at some stage in the near future. We are the worst in Europe for drunken idiots.

My g&t has run out am off now for refill. Happy puffing folks. Just puff in your own homes that's all we ask!

My friend pointed out how offensive she was and she apologised. One can only hope she was abusive because that's what she's learned to do from the anti-smokers. Perhaps she's been re-educated but she didn't the seem the type to suddenly change her view. With luck, she'll keep it to herself next time. I wonder what she'll think of begging Govt to deal with drinkers when they come for her.

Finally, the dumbnut award of the day goes to another FB commenter who had a huge No Smoking sign behind her profile pic. Her inspirational suggestion for reducing smoking rates was :

I think they should put the price of a packet of fags up to £20. It would be an interesting experiment on the true elasticity of demand for tobacco in the UK.

I pointed out that people are growing their own tobacco and saving up their Uk tax to buy cheaper abroad and that such a price could inflate the black market further.

*Sigh* Hmmm, well, :

You think a 300% price rise in a packet of fags would make no difference to legal age consumers? You seem to be saying that the price rise wouldn't hit them because they would switch to either growing their own or buying abroad. I doubt that everyone could get their shit together to do what it takes to organize themselves in such a fashion. In any event, what I was musing about when I wrote my comment, was the fact that your drug of choice is demonstrably damaging and dangerous. Yet, it is still legal and readily available to you, unlike other drugs, far less damaging, that the government has deemed *bad* and made illegal. £20 is what a heroin addict for example would pay for a fix on the black market. Seems to me you don't have it *that* bad.

So there we have it folks. Another No Smoking/Hate Smoker Day which I'd almost forgotten marked a year to the day since we freed Landlord Nick Hogan by paying his £10,000 fine for the heinous crime of making a stance that he wanted the choice to be able to offer his customers the same service they'd had for years before. Sadly, the Govt took control of both his pubs - smoking and non smoking when they Nationalised our Hospitality Industry.

HISTORY REPEATS?

They say things go in cycles and as there is much civil unrest - at least in the minds of millions of people unhappy with the dictatorial way this country is going - it reminded me of what happened in Britain 100 years ago this summer.

The country blew because the working man had enough of slave labour for low wages, disrespect from his employers, and the sheer bloody poverty gap between those that had and those that had nothing but the hours of a day spent trapped in dangerous factories and on railroads.

1911 was one of the hottest years on record - so intense was the heat that it even stopped the birds from singing - and they say this summer may well be another scorcher. A fine setting to the heated rage that currently bubbles under the surface and made worse by the ignorance of the establishment that cares only for the "agenda" and not the people that blindly support it with no idea of what they are voting for.

That was shown in the Oldham and Saddleworth Byelection. If only the 52% of non-voters had made a stand, come out to vote, and taken a chance on something different, the rest of us would have a voice and a slice of hope.

Instead they cleared the way open for the corrupt and thoroughly despicable Labour party to take the seat that is so far removed from it's roots as the working class man's friend that there is no point to it even pretending to care about anyone on less than £100,000 a year.

And as Leg Iron says, the country could spill over into violence because of the Labour win :

Labour winning that by-election was the best thing that could happen. Winning it with such a paltry share of the vote was even better. The control freaks are encouraged to push and push and push and that step too far comes ever closer.

I don't know what it will be. I don't know when or where it will happen. Neither does anyone else but it just came a lot closer to happening.

It won't be a momentous announcement. It will be a little thing, a trivia, a small nudge over the edge of the abyss we've been nudged towards for many years.

One last, lightweight, inconsequential straw.



For smokers those straws are piled on daily as new ridiculous health scares and threats hit the media fuelled and funded by Fake Charities that are simply a front for the establishment's agenda and Party ideology.

Oldham and Saddleworth is a seat in the BNP’s traditional heartlands, an area in
which they have had councillors and took over 11% of the vote at a Westminster
election. So it is an excellent move that UKIP managed to beat those primeval racists into fifth place.

The result was as follows:

Labour 14,718 (42.1%)
Lib Dem 11,160 (31.9%)
Conservative 4,481 (12.8%)
Paul Nuttall – UKIP 2,029 (5.8%)
BNP 1,560 (4.5%)
Others 982 (2.8%)

Interestingly the English Democrat candidate with 144 votes was beaten by the
Official Monster Raving Loony Party which got 145 votes despite the English Democrats
paying for two billboard sites during the campaign.

I'm guessing that UKIP's rise in popularity is not going down too well with the establishment which is now using "research" to scare the hell out of the electorate by claiming that UKIP is a far right, radical and racist party that is attracting bigots from the BNP.

The research does, however, acknowledge that UKIP is now the fourth party of Britain but it has the reasons for its rise in popularity all wrong.

In the recent Oldham by-election, the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) confirmed its status as the fourth largest party in British politics, ahead of the British National Party (BNP). Now, with the local elections looming, experts are warning that UKIP looks set to become a successful radical right party, similar to those seen in countries like Austria, France and Italy, and a ‘significant vehicle’ for Islamophobia.

“Our research shows that Euroscepticism is not the whole story where UKIP is concerned,” say two of its authors — Dr Robert Ford and Dr Matthew Goodwin — experts on voting behaviour at the Universities of Manchester and Nottingham.

“There’s no doubt the party’s position on Europe is a big factor, but their supporters are increasingly concerned with attitudes more typically associated with the British National Party (BNP). Like far right voters, those who vote UKIP are dissatisfied with the mainstream parties and hostile toward immigration.”

The research is the first of its kind to analyse and understand the attitudes and motives of UKIP supporters. At the 2010 general election, UKIP called for an immediate halt on immigration, the ending of multicultural policies and a ban on the niqab and burqa in certain buildings. Its leader, Nigel Farage, has since given a “cautious welcome” to emulation of his party by the French National Front (FN), one of the most successful radical right parties in Europe.

“Our analysis shows while UKIP does mop up ‘defectors’ from the Tories - upper and middle class voters who largely follow UKIP to lodge their feelings on Europe at European Parliament elections - its appeal in domestic elections is rather different”, says Robert Ford, the lead author.

“In domestic elections like Oldham East, UKIP tends to do best amongst disaffected working class voters, who find UKIP’s populist attacks on immigrants, Muslims and the political establishment attractive. UKIP appeals to the same kind of voters as the BNP, but may be able to recruit a broader and more sustainable vote base, with UKIP voters outnumbering BNP voters three to one. While many voters who agree with the BNP’s political messages, they are turned off by its violent and fascist reputation. UKIP suffers no such legitimacy problems. It is in a position to not only recruit a much broader base of BNP support, but a much more sustainable base.”

The research also shows that due, in part, to its more moderate reputation, UKIP has succeeded in securing the votes of important groups like women, who have traditionally rejected the BNP due to its perceived extremism.

“Until now, getting to grips with UKIP has been extremely difficult due to an absence of any real systematic research,” Dr Goodwin adds. “This is why the party remains something of a puzzle to many.”

The paper; Strategic Eurosceptics and Polite Xenophobes: support for the UK Independence Party in the 2009 European Parliament Elections, looks at data gathered from the YouGov online panel in the week prior to the European Parliament Election, and is also authored by Dr David Cutts at the University of Manchester.

Amongst other methods, the researchers compared the views of more than 4,306 UKIP in a group of 34,000 randomly interviewed in the 2001 census. It builds on their previous pioneering studies of BNP voters.

“Ultimately” adds Dr Goodwin,”our research backs up assertions that UKIP, unlike the BNP, are thought of as a legitimate force in British politics, with access to mainstream media and political elites. Voters who shun the BNP are willing to listen to the same messages when they come from UKIP. UKIP may therefore function as a “polite alternative” for voters worried about immigration and Islam, but repelled by the BNP’s public image.”

The fact that YouGov - a throughoughly bigoted organsation that works for Govt and produces "results" that Govt wants to persuade the electorate that they really want a Govt that dictates to them how to live - leads me to believe instantly that this "research" is largely rubbish.

My own experiences of UKIP is that racism is frowned upon. Nigel Farage represents more accurately all of the different strands of discontentment running through British society and particularly it's concern at EU migration.

Not only do we have situation where English people are required to speak Polish so that they can work in British factories, but a friend of mine tells me his job is currently under threat because of a new Polish manager at his factory who is shoving out English workers to get her Eastern European mates in to the exclusion of the local unemployed.

This very cultural, third generation mixed race British born, non racist young man of 21, has been trying to get long term unemployed friends into jobs at his factory but all have been blocked by the Polish manager. Persecution by the ConDems because they have no work, and being pushed out of their traditional jobs by the EU, is why people are raging.

It has nothing to do with racism and everything to do with fairness and wanting to be treated equally in the land of their birth whatever their ethnic genetics.

Others are simply terrified by Islam - a religion they do not understand in a country which is so culturally different to those in the Middle East where Islam rules. Can they really be dismissed as racist because they fear the loss of their own cultural identity?

Racism means judging a person by the colour of their skin. UKIP doesn't do that. Unlike the BNP, it welcomes people from all faiths and backgrounds and it is pulling in as many disaffected Labour and Lib Dem supporters of all faiths and colours as Tory supporters who miss Margaret Thatcher.

The establishment may want to believe - and "prove" to others - that UKIP is a Tory middle class protest party but it is so much more than that.

It is the only hope this country has got.

If the LibLabCon Party does not start to listen to the very angry electorate, then this summer may just prove to be as heated as 1911 as the ordinary person reacts to yet more state control which continues unabated despite the fact that we sent a very clear message to all three parties at the last election that we have simply had enough of it all.

We want our lives back. UKIP can deliver that. It's why I support the party in a way I haven't since campaigning for the former Labour party back in the early 90s.

EU THREE RULE BRITANNIA

Nigel Farage is without doubt the best Prime Minister this country could have if only the voter would wake up and recognise that until we are out of the EU we have no British leader in anything other than name and appearances only.

David Cameron has about as much power as a parish council leader because thanks to NuLabour the last of our country has been given away and Dave is not bothered to get it back. He's happy playing leader knowing he doesn't have to make any real decisions as they are done for him by unelected president Herman Van Rompuoy.

We cannot even decide ourselves what laws are best for us or whether we can hold our own elections if Ireland is anything to go by. Dave just has to keep telling us to sshhh while telling the wider public that UKIP is a nutty party to ensure the voter stays compliant and uncomplaining.

In truth, he's just desperate to hide the fact that he has no power. Like Ireland, his "govt" is forced to attack the poor to keep the Eurocrats happy. Ireland, lets not forget, has been told it must cut welfare and the minimum wage among other things before the EU will let it hold it's own general election. A new party will change nothing. The EU has already decided for Ireland and she is not in control of her elections, laws, social or economic policy.

Our Govt can do nothing more than meddle in our private affairs to give it some kind of sense of being in authority. That's why it interferes with the little issues in our lives like what we eat, drink or smoke, because it cannot make the big decisions.

Those are made by van Rompuoy and the two other unelected officals - CND activist Baroness Ashton (NuLab) and a foreign chap few of us know called Barrosso. They are nameless, faceless, unaccountable officials and very dangerous for the cause of civil liberties. Our Govt is simply their enforcer.

Klaus Vaclas, president of the Czech Republic knows it too. His speech linked here is like an apology to his people that there is nothing he can do about encroaching EU control and power that aims to rob nation states of their cultures, identities, history and heritage.

As Nigel says, the suppression of national identity is what will lead to violence. Certainly it seems to me that if you enforce rules, regulations, and laws on people who have no avenue to hold an election to remove you if they don't like your ideology, then you are asking for long term unrest and trouble.

National elections currently don't matter. They are just a front. Nothing changes no matter what party gets voted in because the EU is the Govt and we cannot elect it. That's why all of the laws we hate so much will stay.

The smoking ban is one such example. We only have it because the EU insists. That is why Cameron makes no mention of it. He is too scared to let the British people know he has no power to change it so he brushes it under the carpet. Other countries don't enforce it as rigorously as Nanny Britain but they have it only because of the EU. Former unelected president Pottering was duped into it by the unelected EU SmokeFree Partnership director Florence Berteletti Kemp, who has no support from the public but merely heads an EU quango.

When the voter and their EU Parliament representatives wanted to meet in the alleged home of European democracy, they were banned from the Parliament building after one call from the unelected Ms Berteletti-Kemp. Just one example of how democracy does not work in Europe. That was when I woke up. A kick in the teeth tends to do that.

Free speech in the EU means you can say what you like but you will be ridiculed, condemned and slandered for it if the EU three don't agree. That's why UKIP has been criticised as "Little Englanders" or "Racists in Blazers". It's because the establishment is terrified that this new party of the people will be heard as more and more voters get wise to what is really going on. UKIP came second in the EU elections. It will do better than the Tories next time as disillusioned former Tories drift over to a party with guts and courage.

Van Rompuoy has tried to incite fear by claiming that without the EU state, individual nations would not survive. Of course we would. We have done for centuries and our friendships will remain unchanged.

What started as an avenue for trade with European friends and neighbours has become a huge multi-state state Govt that frowns on democracy. No one wanted this.

The only democratic thing about it is that we can vote in MEPs. They have no power, however, except that they can raise concerns and highlight the threat to democracy from the EU and the adverse effects its dominance has on British life.

Nigel is passionate and not afraid to speak his mind, like other UKIP MEPs but unlike Lib/Lab/Con party MEPs who appear to do no more than just nod agreements between naps as they let the EU dictators just get on with ripping Britain's soul out.

Some are just simply trainee MPs and career politicians like Nick Clegg who start in the EU parlt, keep their mouths shut, comply with all and everything they are told, and then get themselves a nice little earner as an MP in the castrated British Parliament when a seat becomes available.

There is only one way to end the EU oppression and rid ourselves of the conflicts that will come in a few years' time as rage rises in nation states and European economies implode. We must get out. That can only happen if UKIP is voted into the British Parliament. It desperately wants out of the EU and to stop paying the £120 billion we give to the Eurocrats but more than that it wants democracy back and wants the British people to decide their own future, their own economy, their own way of life, their own security, their own social policies, and their own laws.

The British people have never been asked how far they want to go towards cultural, military, economic and political integration via a referendum as is their right by constitution. The Lib/Lab/Con has continually denied them since 1973. Union with Europe was never supposed to be about three people who aim to remove power from national Govts. Isn't that what Hitler had in mind for Europe?

Polls show that 75% of British people want a say on whether we stay in the EU or come out. That 75% should vote UKIP in the next general election. Only by voting UKIP do they have any chance of getting a referendum and ending the tyranny that is the EU. Only by voting UKIP into the British Parliament can the people of this country begin to get control of their own lives back.

Other European countries feel exactly the same as we do. Once one country drops out of this hell, others will quickly back away too, and then go back to how they should be - proud of their own, tolerant of others, and able to make the decisions that the people and not the Eurocrats want.

Meanwhile it appears our elected representatives are not allowed to raise concerns about the way the the EU is run on our behalf

IF THE GLOVE FITS ...

No UK leader has ever been despised more than Tony Blair. He raised our hopes, he lied, he stabbed us in the back. He took our kids to an illegal war. He is responsible for the death of millions of innocents and the destruction of their homes and property.

He sold us out, stripped us of our pride and civil liberties, and then walked away and left that dictator Brown to finish the job of bringing us to our knees.

Having done the damage, Blair then walked away and turned his back on the country he once said he cared for "with every sinew" of his sweaty body. I felt like puking when he used that kind of clichéd hyperbole. Now he is making money off it with his memoirs.

There is a suggestion that Blair's new book is in the wrong section of the bookshop and should be moved to crime or treason. It seems to have caught on and the British are showing their hatred of this former leader and everything he stood for in a subtle and dignified way by simply moving books from one shelf to another.

Meanwhile one of the creeps he left behind in his NuParty has been having a bit of bother.

The news that Phil Woolas is the same kind of lying cheat as his former boss comes as no surprise. Nulabour must be the most corrupt party for almost 100 years.

The former champions of the disaffected, the broken, the beaten and the wretched, that three generations of my family supported, has been reduced to a gang of tyrants and thugs who are more concerned with the cut of their suits.

NuLabour hammered its core working class support to gain the votes in seats that mattered under an unfair voting system. It's leaders shamed us and dragged us into an economic mire to bribe sleepwalkers into keeping them in power for 13 long years.

The British sleeping lion is beginning to wake. His yawn will become a roar and I hope it's heard at the by election forced by Woolas's deception. The outcome and the first test of this new ConDem coalition will be fascinating to watch. I hope they get what they deserve for all their broken promises and shallow lies.

For me the only political answer to start putting some real passion into solving the country's problems is UKIP. Former supporters of the LibLabCon party are drifting over to UKIP as the only hope of gaining back some self respect and pride.

It's great to see that Nigel Farage made it back as UKIP leader and with such huge support from members of the party. He's a great orator and he carries the crowd with him. If anyone in the party can win a seat in Parliament, then it's Farage.

He seems a normal down to earth and decent sort of bloke and his presence would shake the foundations of that exclusive Parliament club.

WELL SAID FARAGE

At least someone is trying to make the voice of the ordinary voter heard on the issue of the money draining waste of EU space.

Note the arrogant response from the Irish minister in the middle of the report who thinks he knows better how the people of his country should be spending their money.

AN MP WORTHY OF SUPPORT

Dick Puddlecote has been out and about and able to catch up with our shared blog mascot, Philip Davies MP.

DP thought he was worthy because of his straight talking libertarian views. The fact that he speaks up for those who are oppressed or persecuted because they do not accept the enforced view of the EU, the healthist lifestyle bullies, or the climate change terrorists is why I think he deserves to be on a pedestal as an encouragement to other free thinking politicians to come out.

I wish he wasn't a Tory but at least as a member of the half party in power, he will be heard.

In fact UKIP loves him too. Former leader Lord Pearson (is he still leader until a new one is chosen?) would not stand a candidate against him in the general election for fear of losing that strong anti-EU voice.

I hope Nigel Farage gets the leadership back. He'll certainly get my vote because he can bring the wider public along with the party. So many people want to switch their support from the failed old parties but they want that support to go to a party that can take their hopes into Parliament. Forget the BNP. They will never do it. They are in too much disarray and their policies would be worse than Gordon Brown's.

It's a kind of catch 22 situation. UKIP has the capacity to win an election. It can't win an election without the support of the public. The public worries UKIP won't get into Parliament so it votes elsewhere.

Things are changing even if they are not changing fast enough for me. UKIP is the fourth largest party in the UK. It is evolving as new members come on board from old Tory grandees and entrepreneurs, old socialist Labour union members and workers, and those who voted iiLiberal to find the party more than wanting.

It will probably get more support at the next election as people turn away from the IlLiberal Demotwats and BluLabour who have both turned away from their roots.

Look what happened to NuLabour when it betrayed it's core support? The modern ideological battle, in my view, is not between the old "owners" and "workers" but the "libertarians" versus the "authoritarians."

The IlLiberals are simply a mish mash of old Labour and old Liberals and old socialists and they offer nothing new or exciting.

Britain has always been a two party state. It still is but only one is represented. We need a libertarian party in Parliament to balance out the three authoritarians that have morphed into one with three different names.

NIGEL ON HIGNFY

I think Nigel Farage - or Niggle Farage - did very well on Have I got News For You last night.

I asked my 16 year old son what he thought about it after the programme. He said he liked Nigel and he made him laugh. He said he was different and came across as honest and not "full of the same kind of spin."

My family doesn't particularly share my political views or party allegience so my politically neutral's son's opinion was encouraging and my other half's reaction interesting. He said he liked the humourous verbal assault on the unelected EU president Van Rompuy, and said it was great to hear a poltician like Nigel speak his mind even if you don't like what he says. My bloke reminded me of the time Labour's Dennis Skinner had a mardy, grabbed the Mace in the House of Commons, and threw it to the floor, and when John Prescott punched a constituent.
