My sister, Maureen Whisker, a lifelong non-smoker who supports the cause for free choice, posted up the photos she took at the Jolly Brewer Smokin' Festival on Flickr here : http://www.flickr.com/photos/maureenwhisker/
Most commentators are only interested in the artistic value of the shots and such things like light and what kind of lens was used.
However, some have commented on the issue of choice itself and as we would expect, there were strong views on either side of the debate.
One person asks : "There was a Smoker's Festival? Damn why no one tell me?" and an anti says : "great shots, but I can't support the cause. However, one of the problems of banning smoking inside is that you cannot smoke outside without being kippered."
Maureen says that battle lines on this subject appear to be drawn culturally. The Americans are wholly against any form of choice for smokers, for example, whereas the Italians are "simpatico" to the cause.
The photo above is of my eldest grand daughter who popped along to the festival with her mum as it was being set up. Another great example of Maureen's excellent photography.
